During the “Transforming IT with Microsoft Private Cloud” webcast, Microsoft officially announced a new licensing model for System Center 2012. The suite is going to be offered in both Standard and Data Center editions; no licensing for separate products going forward. I was going to post detailed information on the two, but Rod Trent over at myITforum beat me to the punch. You can check out his excellent post at:

There are a lot of grand solutions out there for Orchestrator and Service Manager (most of which I love to death) but not so much out there about all the little things that can add a tremendous amount of value with very little work.
Like:
How about creating a Service Offering in SCSM for Directory Services? Then adding some service requests like Disable AD Account, Reset Service Account Password, Change [Insert property here], and so on.
One of my team requested last week that we go up in AD and clean it up by removing some AD account/objects. He doesn’t have rights to do that so I am sure we can come up with some way of automating that process.
Maybe I will show this off during the User Group meeting on Thursday!
